You don’t need to worry – the ‘change’ mentioned is nothing like what you are currently getting from Washington DC!! We are talking real change at the Roost.  First, just in case you haven’t heard, the old Uncle has sold his business interest and property and hit the road.  Literally!! He is currently somewhere out west burning up the highways on his ‘retirement roadtrip’.
So it looks like I will have new business partners and the Roost will continue to be the best motorcycle facility of its kind.  I am turning over half of my interest to my son Trinity to insure the Roost will remain in the family for many years to come.  Trint was in on the original construction and has contributed much over the years to the Roost (including the ‘I Got Juiced at the Roost’  t-shirt theme) and will continue to support the Roost values and attitudes you have all come to love.   It looks like I will have to keep up the extensive traveling for my current job; as such I will still be scarcely seen at the Roost.  As always tho, I will be there in spirit.  Hopefully I can retire from this gig chasing ships all over the globe and start spending more time here.  Thanks to the other old Uncle (Sam not Roy), my retirement has been put on hold for a few more years! I am sure a lot of you can relate to that!!
The new partners are David and Pam Lucas.  They have been ‘breaking in’ to the job over the past couple of years and will assume the role of ‘General Managers’ for the 2010 season.   They are whole-heartedly endorsed by both Trint and I and we hope everyone will welcome them to the Roost.  They have good ideas, a great work ethic, and the right attitude for someone owning the Roost.  They LOVE to RIDE!!
2010 is also our 20th anniversary here at the Roost and the Lucas’ and I are planning on making it a banner year.  We want to invite everyone to help us celebrate 20 years in business here in Ferguson.
Here are just some of the ‘changes’ we are planning:

  • Website updates to include twitter and a blog and weekly updates to keep the content current.  Sending us a picture will actually result in it being posted.
  • We will be producing web videos such as a virtual tour of the Roost, local riding, and customer videos all to be added for your viewing enjoyment.  We are also planning to add live ‘streaming’ videos during events.
  • Wi-Fi internet available throughout the entire campground.
  • Our season will be expanded to open in March and close in November.  With the extended season we will begin hosting two additional parties as well.
  • Addition of a covered bandstand and stage complete with video screens.
  • We are adding two up-scale rentals to our inventory.  These will include a private shower and bathroom, AC, Cable TV, and lounge area complete with a fire place.
  • We are also adding additional 5 cabins; a couple of these will be more private and upscale from our basic unit!! More details on this when we get it all worked out.
  • You won’t have to bring a tent to camp anymore.  Call ahead, we will set one up for you and have it ready to move in when you arrive.
  • Seasonal storage units will be available so you won’t have to worry about loading your gear on the bike.
  • We are going to set up a camp store so ya won’t have to saddle up to get basic supplies.
  • BREAKFAST!! That’s right, breakfast will be served up after a hard nite of hanging out.
  • Special event hosting will be available.  Make yer wedding, birthday, divorce, or whatever,  a special event and hold it here.  We will work to make it memorable and cater it to any degree you want.  We will even provide photographers and videographers to document it for you.
  • Updated logo and T-shirt designs, styles, and types.  We are also planning additional Roost products as well as some with a custom 20th Anniversary Logo.
  • We are working on accepting credit cards here for the first time.
  • What won’t change will be the camaraderie and fellowship that Rider’s Roost has been famous for over the years!   Keep Riding!!

Guests of the ROOST enjoy some of the greatest riding east of the Mississippi. The Blue Ridge Parkway, a mandatory ride for any serious motorcyclist, is only minutes away and every route to the Parkway is a delight. Scenic mountain roads are in abundance. In fact, NC268 is a designated North Carolina Scenic Byway.

The riding is why we are here! We will also be happy to help you lay out your day's ride for your maximum enjoyment.
